More Resouces
Below are a variety of resources. First are some books that I have enjoyed, with topics ranging from horse training, to exercise, to life philosophy. This is followed by some other books, magazines, organizations and people whom you may find interesting. Of course, visit our web shop to find the Dressage, Naturally Instructional material, sign up for our monthly e-newsletter by registering on the homepage, or peruse Articles by Karen (in the Education section).
Enjoy!
For your convenience, some of these resources are directly linked to pages where you can purchase them. Also, don't forget that additional resources available to you include my monthly newsletters, pod casts, and my book and DVD series!
Remember: The truth is always in the middle...enjoy!
IF HORSES COULD SPEAK Featuring Dr Gerd Heuschmann. This DVD is a companion of the book listed above, Tug of War. ORDER HERE
PHILIPPE KARL has a Classical Dressage DVD Series in English available. ORDER HERE
HORSEPERSONALITY.COM Take the quiz and find out what your horse's personality would be. This is the website for the book above: Is Your Horse a Rock Star by Dessa Hockley
PARELLI was my source for Natural Horsemanship, most of their resources are available only through their website: Parelli.com
THE HORSE'S HOOF is an in depth newsletter (more like an on-line magazine). This is a great resource for anybody doing barefoot trimming. In their words: "This publication is written for and about everyone and anyone who is involved with barefoot horses. Every method, philosophy and group is represented and promoted equally and without bias, for the good of horses everywhere."
The UNITED STATES DRESSAGE FEDERATION is a great resource for dressage in the USA. They have a DVD called 'On The Levels' in their store which just shows very nice riders and horses going through each one of the National competition tests, from Introductory through Fourth Level. This is a great way for students new to dressage to get a visual of what is required at the different levels. (Often students who are just starting dressage want to watch the Olympics, but watching the lower level tests will be easier to relate to and more readily apply-able!)
ALLEGE-IDEAL is a french organization dedicated to classical dressage in lightness.
