6-Day Clinic Format

Many people ask us about the 6-day clinics at Temenos Fields.  These clinics are very limited in frequency and number of riders, so if you are interested ... please check the clinic schedule and contact us if you'd like to be notified when a slot is available. Do you have a group of fellow students and want to create your own group?  Let us know that, too!

The idea of these 6-day clinics is to welcome eight (8) riders to my home facility, my 'living room', for a concentrated, yet relaxed clinic. There are no outside auditors, although as a participant, you are  allowed to invite one special guest. These guests participate in all discussion and simulations and are an important part of the energy of the group. In my big clinics, I love having a large auditor gallery; they can really lend a strong, positive energy to the whole clinic. But sometimes it is nice for the riders to also have a forum where they can go through the learning process in a more private, close setting.

At least twice during the week you will receive private lessons, where individual attention can be given, and specific strategies and exercises played with. It is a great opportunity to put theory into practice and get to a deeper layer of progress. We also may break down to smaller groups or ride/play on the ground as one large group. As a participant you will also have the opportunity to give suggestions for discussion or demonstration topics. I choose the "most wanted" and "most appropriate" topics that you, as the group, want ... then create the best way to teach it for you!

I love to get my horses out during the course of the 6 days, so often I use my horses to demonstrate a skill or quality.

My goal is for you to progress, and I will do whatever I can to help you get to the next step ... or maybe the next three steps! I organize it so you feel like you got more than you expected, while planning the schedule so you stay fresh, instead of exhausted, by the end (the brain can absorb only what the butt can endure!) :-). We do a group dinner at least one night.

Horses are stabled in 12 x 24 wood and panel pens, together as a group, outside, but along a shaded, protected tree-line. There are hoses that go to each pen, so it is easy to keep your horses hydrated! There are hotels 20 minutes away as well as local, affordable housing about 10 minutes away, with opportunity for many students to share the same house. You will be working out of your trailers, or there is a guest tack room also available.

Temenos Fields is 35 acres of fields on excellent grass with a sand base. Even if it rains torrentially, as soon as it stops it is safe to ride on... no slippery clay here! We have a 75’ round pen, and a full sized, irrigated dressage arena.
